Welcome to the 2016 Holiday Advent Project! Today is the first day and we have 24 days to go! Hope I can keep up!
Read MoreI've been a little obsessed with Matryoshkas (Russian nesting dolls) for a long time. My mom has a pretty large one (about 12 inches tall) and I remember having so much fun taking them all apart (it had quite a bit nesting in there).
This past summer I participated in the 100 Day Project on Instagram where I attempted to create a new piece every day for 100 days (I say attempted because I think I took 105 days to complete). My theme was cats and during that project I created these cute little kitty matryoshka characters. I recently went back and retooled them a little and created a pattern collection.

Read MoreI'd love to share this new collection with you! These are a bunch of fun and cute sea dogs having adventures on the high seas! I started out by sketching out the little guys and then I developed the other elements like the ships and birds.
Read MoreBefore signing on with an illustration agency, I hadn’t really heard of or had been asked to produce spec work. “Spec work” or speculative work, is work a client may request from a designer or illustrator to submit so that the client can determine if they want to use that designer for a project. In most cases, this work is not compensated for and landing the project is not guaranteed.

First of all I’d like to say that Bonnie Christine was a great teacher. Not only was her information very valuable and helpful, she was very sweet and easy to listen to. Even though this is an online course, I feel it’s important, as a teacher, to come off as pleasant, genuine and happy to be sharing your knowledge.

Read MoreWith the successful funding of Little Dipper's Kickstarter, I was able to add a collection of 3 prints to their selection. I created these in hopes that they would be great as stand alones or combined together.
Read MoreI actually am juggling a few job related things (that I sadly cannot share) so I thought I'd share a personal project I'll be working on as time becomes available. I have always been attracted to surface and pattern design. Even when I was little, I believe I was unconciously drawn to print and pattern because I really enjoyed looking at lovely packaging, stationery and greeting cards. I used to hoard my favorite cards I received on birthdays and holidays in a box. I still do keep our kids cards now.
This personal project I'm creating is a surface design collection. I've taken a few Skillshare classes (list below) to help me learn and understand what it takes to get into surface design.
