Growing up in Hawaii I never really felt a career in art was possible. This is my first locally published book and very near and dear to my heart. I am thankful for each and every project that comes my way but this book was the first that I've actually seen in stores so it's extra exciting!

I've finally fleshed out all the elements in Adobe Illustrator (CS6) and have moved everything into Photoshop. I really enjoy working in Photoshop because it's closer to working traditionally.
Read MoreOk, sorry, technically it's Thursday but this is still a WIP post. I had been asked by my agent to create a new piece for my portfolio and the deadline was tight. I had a few other sketches for development but I felt that this scene was something I could complete in a couple days.
Read MoreI spent a couple days working intensely on this mermaid illustration. I'm trying to slowly add more to my childrens' publishing portfolio.
I started out with a few sketches and chose a composition I like. I'll probably tackle one or more of the sketches in the near future to sort of build a story around these characters.
