MATS Bootcamp May 2015
Sorry for the lack of a Net Picks post yesterday! I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend!!! Yay! I finally finished a MATS piece this semester! It's been a busy year so even though I have wanted to participate I haven't been able to actually complete a piece til this month (bootcamp started in January and there was a break for the month of April). This month's theme was a dinner/home ware set that has a crustaceans theme. I was really excited to try my hand at something I would never think of to draw or illustrate. If you're interested in seeing progress shots please check my previous WIP Wednesday post here.
Here is the finished piece:
For fun, I added lots of patterns and details and textures. I know I don't really work in anything this style much, but I had lots of fun and I would love to design more things like this! This is why I love MATS bootcamp. The design briefs are so varied and so much fun and there is ample time to work on it over the month. They come up with challenges that I would have never thought up on my own.
Anyway, please check out some close ups of the plates.
