Net Picks - 2015 Holiday Advent Calendars
I love how so many artists have taken to creating their own advent calendars! It's amazing how much work and detail some will put into each little illustration on a daily basis for the days leading up to Christmas! Here are a few I found really wonderful:
- Valerie Hart - Valerie is a new discovery for me. I love the colors and the cute little camper in her piece. There is something fun about this little scene. If you'd like to see her advent calendar's progress, check out her blog.
- Caroline Alfreds - Caroline is also a new find on Pinterest. It's always great to find someone new! Isn't her polar snow bear adorable? Love the touches of berries growing out of his twig arms.
- Susan Driscoll - Susan Driscoll is so talented at choosing her colors! I only count 6 colors (including white) but this piece doesn't seem to feel any lack thereof. I love how she chose plain winter items like mittens and socks and made them so charming! You can see more of her advent calendar illustrations on the Dotty Wren Studio blog. Susan does such wonderful work, I featured her a while ago in a past Net Picks.
- Fhiona Galloway - I actually found Fhiona's last year advent (this mouse is from this year's) on Pinterest and then looked up her blog. Her current advent calendar is filled with super cute animal characters, including this little guy! Please check out her work!
My Net Picks series is my opportunity to share with you wonderful art, artists, tools and resources that I have found. My hope is to help my readers discover new talent that inspires them, tools and information to help them with their artistic endeavors, and also to garner support for great creatives!
