Net Picks - Instagram Highlights
This week's Net Picks highlights a few of the artists I follow on Instagram. The common thread amongst all these artists is that they post a lot of work in pen and ink. Each has their own very distinct style that really sets their work apart.
- @hweigh - Hwei's character drawings are really beautiful. Delicate thin lines are combined with bolder, flat black areas. In addition to an Instagram account, Hwei also has a tumblr with lots more work (including painted and even graphic novel work!).
- @minifanfan - Gee Fan (or Minifanfan) is an artist/illustrator in Malaysia. Minifanfan's feed is full of charming animal characters. She also showcases her work on many different products which would be lovely decoration for a childrens' play room. For more of her work you can check out her website and her Shopify online shop.
- @maruti_bitamin - Maruti_bitamin (aka Koyamori) is an artist located in Canada. Her works are so beautiful and evoke a fanciful world full of beautiful characters and cute and wondeful creatures. She uses a mix of pen and ink along with watercolors in her works (and gold paint/ink too!). She has a lovely little shop that has her work on a variety of products including prints, stickers, accessories (like pouches) and even washi tape!
- @morningmobi - Su Ann is a freelance illustrator. Her instagram feed is full of adorable pen and ink drawins that are highly detailed. Although she does work in vector (Illustrator) she mainly posts her hand drawn work. If you think her work would transfer wonderfully to coloring books, fear not, she has some available for download in her Etsy shop.
My Net Picks series is my opportunity to share with you wonderful art, artists, tools and resources that I have found. My hope is to help my readers discover new talent that inspires them, tools and information to help them with their artistic endeavors, and also to garner support for great creatives!
